Grafton Branch of Carriage Driving NSW (EFA)
There has been a harness driving club in Grafton
for over 16 years. The club aims to promote the driving of horses,
ponies and mules in all shapes and sizes. The driving club holds its
annual Horse Driving Trials (HDT) at Hawthorne Equestrian Park. These are
made up of 3 phases: a driven dressage test and cone driving on the Saturday
and a marathon with obstacles to be negotiated on the Sunday. We also
have picnic drives and instruction days for the members who don't wish to
compete but just enjoy driving. Membership in the EFA NSW branch (see
EFA web site for details and
benefits) gives you membership in the Big River Harness group. We are
lucky to have 2 members who have successfully competed at state, national
and international events in the USA and Europe. For more information
