- If you want to ride long distances over difficult terrain, the Easyboot Epic is the best choice.
- Potential Rubbing with the Boa Horse Boot and Old Mac’s:
- The Old Mac’s Hoof Boot works best when fitted with a Pastern Wrap. The Pastern Wrap minimizes the chances of rubbing in all conditions.
- The Boa Horse Boot works best when fitted with a Boa Gaiter. The Boa Gaiter minimizes the chances of rubbing in all conditions.
- The Boa Horse Boot and the Old Mac’s have similar recommended uses. Quick tips when deciding between the Boa Horse Boot and Old Mac’s:
- The Boa Horse Boot and Old Mac’s Hoof Boots are both quick and easy to fit.
- If you are having a hard time deciding between an Old Mac’s and a Boa Horse Boot consider the following:
- Old Mac’s have a more aggressive tread pattern and will provide better traction in mud or wet grass. Although the tread is more aggressive, it wears more quickly than the tread of the Boa.
- If your horse’s feet are short and wide, an Old Mac’s is a better choice.
- Boa Horse Boots are better for horse’s feet that are slightly longer than wider.
- Endurance riding or rides of extended length or time:
- Although the Boa Horse Boot and Old Mac’s Horse boots have been successfully used for endurance-type distances, EasyCare does not recommend either of these boots if used more than 25 miles per week or per ride. Without due diligence in use, the Old Mac’s and Boa Horse Boot can cause rubbing above the hairline.
